Auntie Flo (Glasgow)
Australian Tour 2013

Sydney, Melbourne & Adelaide

Brian d’Souza aka Auntie Flo hails from Goa by way of Glasgow, but now resides in London where he is a resident for Huntleys & Palmers and Highlife.

Since bursting onto the scene back in 2011 with his debut ‘Goan Highlife EP’ and 2012 follow up ‘Oh My Days’ on Huntleys and Palmers, which won him fans across the musical spectrum, as well as plays from Radio 1, high placings on the end of year charts, a Pearson Sound remix and full support from the DJ A-list. He followed it up with the more experimental mini-album Future Rhythm Machine showcasing the full breadth of his unique afro-futurist sound, encompassing classic house, disco, techno, electronica influences alongside afrobeat, kwaito, cumbia, South American rhythms and outsider music from all around the world. Two Radio 1 live sessions at Maida Vale followed alongside two Boiler Room sets, one live and the other DJing.

The latter half of 2012 saw Auntie Flo launch the ‘Rituals series’ via Kompakt and Japan’s Mule Musiq. Backed with an acclaimed mix for Resident Advisor 341 and showcase at Berlin’s Panorama Bar where he was sandwiched between Innervisions staples Henrik Schwarz and Ame – two key influences on the Rituals sound.
For Auntie Flo live, Brian teams up with South African Esa Williams (Sub Club / Burek) on an array of hardware and live percussion. Following a summer of festival appearances at the likes of Rockness, T in The Park, Dimensions, SMS, Camp Bestival, Neopop and more, they ended 2012 with a headline live show at the sold out Optimo New Year’s Eve bash, which received a rare 5/5 review from Resident Advisor and praise from punters alike.

This year, Auntie Flo has been working on various remixes for the likes of Domino, Civil Music, Audio Doughnuts, One Eyed Jacks, Soundway and many more. New productions are on the way, with forthcoming releases for Philomena / Innervisions, Matias Aguayo’s Comeme and Huntleys and Palmers. A brand new live set will also debut this summer, primed for the festival circuit.

Hunee (Berlin)
Australian Tour 2012

Sydney, Melbourne & Adelaide

Korean born, now Berlin resident for almost ten years Hunee runs the ‘Hunchin All Night’ events at Berlin’s Soju Bar. Known for his long play sets he can also be seen at various events held at Watergate and ‘Holy Water’ at Panaroma Bar.

Aside from djing his releases of late are reaching far and wide with his own personal sound signature that brings back a classic feel of house from yesteryear but with a brand new feel, heard on compilations such as Prosumer’s ‘Panorama Bar 03′ on Ostgut Ton and Permanent Vacation’s ‘If This Is House I Want My Money Back’.

Vinyl releases are also coming out thick and fast such as Virgo Four ‘It’s A Crime’ remix alongside Carribou on Rush Hour, Washington DC’s Future Times’ ‘Vibe 2′ EP and most recently ‘Free To Be’ remix for Nicholas on 4LUX. Other labels include NYC’s “W.T. Records”, Prins Thomas’ “Internasjonal” and the vinyl-only label “Retreat”.

Hitting Sydney with a minimum 3-hour set, expect the Berlin bench mark of Dj talent playing bumpin’, deep and jacking tunes with a touch of slo-mo soul. This February heat couldn’t see anyone better to grace the HAHA Ring, dropping the gloves for some skin-to-skin action, this time with your ‘honey’ for a pre-valentine’s touch up!

Glimpse (UK)
Australian Tour 2011 & Album Tour 2009

Sydney, Melbourne & Adelaide

From the early days of his hugely successful, uncompromising techno ‘Black Series’ on Glimpse Recordings, through to the groove-laden tech house of ‘Drifting’ on Planet E and, later, fully pursuing the deep and organic take on house via his Crosstown Rebels singles and album – this musical range has gained him the respect of his peers and culminated in two successive nominations in DJ Magazine’s prestigious ‘Best British Producer’ category.

Not that his recognition is purely domestic. As a touring act, the Glimpse live show has really found its mark after the tipping point of the ‘Runner’ LP on Crosstown Rebels in 2010. Already a regular in South America as well as Japan (in part due to a loyal following at Tokyo’s club-of-the-future Womb) the subsequent live tour powered him into new territories such as Australia and North America, as well as European clubbing meccas such as Panorama Bar, Tenax, Fabric, Cocoon and Tresor. A specific highlight in his career came in summer 2010 when an epic run of gigs at Space Ibiza’s Kehakuma party culminated in him being invited to close the evening on the Flight Area stage (outdoor Car Park) at the Space Closing fiesta. As he wrapped up the show, in front of a 5,000 strong crowd, he joined an elite crew containing literally the biggest names in the history of dance music.

With 2011 drawing to a close, Glimpse favourably returns to two of his former label collaborators. In November, he teams up on Leftroom with regular collaborator Martin Dawson with ‘Wildlife’, which the label are calling one of their biggest releases yet. A highly sought after eruption of impelling house and a straight up dance floor killer, ‘Wildlife’ could yet be another milestone release.

‘Fat Controller’ sees Glimpse make a welcome return to an on-point Hypercolour in early 2012 and, for his premier outing on Catz ‘n Dogz’ Pet Recordings, ‘Our Friends Electric’, Glimpse uses his own vocals with remarkable results on another extremely catchy single.

Capable of taking his sound in all the directions under the spectrum, owing to an unyielding drive to reinvent himself, only Glimpse knows what the future holds in store.
